Our Most-Loved Comfort-First Pieces
A curated selection of bestsellers
Designed with care, worn with confidence
Helix & Conch is a small, founder-led brand, and every piece is designed and chosen with real wear in mind. I work in small batches and personally check each style for comfort, balance and finish before it makes it into the collection. The range includes both solid gold and demi-fine designs, so you can build a stack that suits your life, your piercings and your budget, without ever compromising on how it feels to wear. Comfort isn't a nice-to-have here; it's the starting point.
FAQ
Are these suitable for sensitive ears?
Yes! They’re made with sensitive ears in mind. All Helix & Conch plated pieces use a sterling silver base with either rhodium or 14k gold plating. I also offer solid 9k and 14k gold options. All pieces are nickel-free, which makes them a great choice for most sensitive ears. That said, everyone’s skin is different. If you’ve reacted to jewellery before (or you know there’s a specific metal you can’t wear) then please don't risk it!
Can I sleep in them?
You can, but I generally recommend taking the plated pieces out to sleep. Overnight wear (plus things like sweat, skincare, showering, swimming, hair products and friction against your pillow) can wear plating down faster and dull the finish over time. Put them in as your last step in getting ready! If you want a “leave-in” option, solid 9k/14k gold is the most low-maintenance choice.
What are they made from?
Helix & Conch pieces come in two main material options: Solid gold (9k or 14k) and sterling silver with a gold (or silver) finish: For solid gold the whole piece is real gold all the way through, not coated. It’s the most low‑maintenance option and is ideal if you want something you can wear all the time (including showering/sleeping) with minimal fuss. Sterling silver with a finish: these pieces have a 925 sterling silver base, then a plated finish on top, either 14k gold plating (for a gold look) or rhodium plating (for a bright silver look). They’re still high quality, (Vermeil thickness 2.5microns) but plating is a surface layer, so they’ll stay looking their best with a bit of care (taking them off for sleep/showering, avoiding perfumes/creams, etc.).
Will they fade over time?
Yes plated pieces can fade over time, because the gold/rhodium finish is a surface layer and natural wear (plus things like water, sweat, skincare and perfume) will gradually dull it. The good news: H&C plating is thicker than many cheaper high-street options, so it’s made to last well with normal wear.To keep plated pieces looking fresh for longer, take them off for showering, swimming and sleeping, and avoid contact with perfumes, creams and sprays. If you want the most low‑maintenance option, solid 9k/14k gold won’t fade.
Are they sold as singles or pairs?
You can buy a single or pair because lots of people are building an ear stack (different piercings, different sizes, mixing styles) and only need one piece rather than a full pair. It also means if you lose one, you can simply replace the single, you don’t have to buy a whole new pair! If you’d prefer a matching set, you can absolutely buy a pair (either by selecting “pair”, or adding two singles).
